organising a group :
If you are thinking about organising a group to come to play at Paintball Evolution, then there are a few things that we recommend you do so that the day comes off without a hitch:
- Pick an appropriate day to play. This may sound fairly obvious, but some people may not be able to make it without enough notice, or on a weekday, etc. so picking your day carefully can make things easier for you. Feel free to contact us to check for upcoming events that interest you, or events that may clash with your proposed day.
- Find out how many people are interested. Bear in mind that we cannot open the site exclusively if your group has less than 10 players in it. Of course you can still play, but you will need to contact us to check availability so that you can come when there is another group playing too.
- Contact us to let us know of your planned day. We will then be able to provisionally 'pencil you in' so that we can keep track of parties that wish to play. This should be done as far in advance of the day as possible, to allow you to collect deposits, etc. Your booking will not be confirmed until we recieve your deposits.
- Collect a deposit from each player. We will usually request a per-player deposit at the point of booking and confirming your day. We also find that collecting a small deposit (usually £10 per person) is a more reliable way of ensuring that players actually turn up on the day.
- Contact us to confirm the booking and pay a deposit. We accept the majority of major credit and debit cards over the phone, or you can post us a cheque if you prefer (remember to include a name and contact number!). You can also visit the site and give us cash if this is the best way for you. Please call us prior to doing this so that we are expecting you, as there needs to be someone on-site with cash-handling facilities and change for us to book you in.
- Remind players before the day. Some players are forgetful and will not remember that they have agreed to play and given a deposit - we find it is best to remind everyone a few days before the planned day to make sure they turn up.
what to do on the game day :
Please arrange to be at the site no later than 9.30am (for a full day), or no later than 1.00pm (for a half-day) on your actual game day. All players need to be present so that we can give you your equipment and a safety briefing prior to playing paintball.
If you are not sure where the site is or where to park, etc. then ue the directions page to help you. If you have any difficulties then please let us know and we will be happy to help.
Make sure you bring some appropriate footwear! It can be quite muddy on the site (as we are located in a woodland area) so please make sure you bring some sensible boots or shoes with you on the day, as we do not have any spare footwear for you to borrow. We usually find that boots, football boots or some fairly water-resistant shoes are a good idea, and trainers usually aren't the best choice.
When you arrive, please park in our grass/gravel parking area next to the 'poly tunnels', change into your shoes and clothes you wish to play in (if you haven't already) and then walk down the gravelled hill into base camp. There should be a Marshal in the parking area to show you the way, and there will be staff in base camp to meet you.
